The shift to listen for at The Anthem

The useful distinction is between a song being likely and its position being fixed. “Think I’m in Love” turned up in the middle of the Boston show, but much earlier on Toronto’s second night. “The New Pollution” also moved around. Both belong high on a listening list; predicting every transition would miss how Beck has been arranging this tour.

The Anthem forecast therefore follows the broader arc: a reflective opening, a flexible acoustic pocket, then a late sequence with the familiar rhythmic hooks. A return of “Cold Brains” or “Everybody’s Got to Learn Sometime” would suit the middle. “Dreams” is a worthwhile alternate after Boston, while “Debra” and the Daniel Johnston cover are the two encore directions to keep in mind.

Why this is the forecast

Across the five checked shows—Detroit, both Toronto nights, Boston and Philadelphia—“In the Night,” “Paper Tiger,” “For Your Love,” “The New Pollution,” “Gamma Ray,” “Think I’m in Love,” “Lost Cause,” “Devils Haircut,” “Loser” and “Where It’s At” appear in each published set report. Those songs carry more weight here than any one night’s rarity. The middle order and encore change more freely.

Set evidence: Detroit, October 12 · Toronto, October 14 · Toronto, October 15 · Boston, October 17 · Philadelphia, October 18. The Boston article is a review with a reported setlist; the other lists are audience-contributed records. Research cutoff: October 23. The October 22 Brooklyn page did not yet provide a usable completed song list when checked.

Before you go: The Anthem

Make the waterfront part of the plan

The promoter’s listing gives the address as 901 Wharf Street SW and confirms 6 PM doors and a 7:30 PM show. Leave time between arriving at the Wharf and joining the entry line; dinner that ends at showtime is an easy way to miss the opener.

Check which kind of ticket you hold

The Anthem uses different seating arrangements for different events. Read the section and admission details on your actual ticket before making a front-of-floor plan. Its FAQ explains that the printed show time is when the first act starts. It also has specific pickup and ID requirements for Super Excellent Seats, so those holders should read the venue’s instructions ahead of arrival.

Keep the bag small and the evening self-contained

The venue prefers guests to leave bags at home; larger items may need coat check after a search. It does not allow re-entry, so bring what you need for the whole evening. A physical, valid government-issued photo ID is required if you plan to drink alcohol. Bars accept cards and mobile payments. Finish dinner before entry if you want food from outside.

A short listening plan before the show

For a compact Sunday warm-up, pair “Paper Tiger” with “Lost Cause,” then “The New Pollution” with “Think I’m in Love.” The contrast helps explain why the quieter first half is part of the attraction, rather than a wait for the hits.

If you are new to Beck, start with the contrast between Odelay and Sea Change: one explains the rhythmic hooks, the other the quieter emotional pull. The current tour brings those impulses into the same evening. Beck’s official site has the current music and tour listings.
